Liam and Millie Are Hot Love Island Favorites

Published on: 09/08/2021

Sunday’s Love Island episode left viewers on a cliffhanger with the announcement two Islanders – one boy, one girl – are about to be sent home. Fear not, moments later the official Love Island Twitter account confirmed two new candidates will be joining the show this week!

At Least One Couple Will Be Separated

Abigail, Kaz, Mary, Dale, Jake and Tyler are the six islanders shortlisted for the chop tonight as a result of a shortfall in ‘popularity votes’ from the viewing public. Amongst that sextet are two couples, Mary and Dale and Kaz and Tyler. Also in danger is one half of the show’s longest-lasting couple, Jake, who has been coupled with Liberty from the opening day.

Earlier in Sunday night’s show Faye dumped her partner Teddy with dismissive walking away comments of: “I want to continue this journey on my own,” when asked by her partner of three weeks “what do you want?”

At the start of Sunday’s episode, this pair were just 5/2 to be the outright winning couple. As a consequence, Liam and Millie, who have been an item since day 14, are now odds-on favorites to win the show. William Hill currently offers just 8/13 they will to be named Love Island 2021 winners.

Will Newcomer Aaron Be On the Ball?

The two new contestants that are due to enter the show this week are 23-year-old medical student Priya from London and 24-year-old footballer Aaron Simpson who lives in Kent. Simpson made four appearances for Scottish Championship side Kilmarnock in 2018 and has more recently been on the team-sheet for Dover Athletic and Sutton United.

Love Island producers will be hoping the newcomers will provoke some compelling moments as social media has been awash with people complaining about the lack of entertaining storylines. One Twitter account quipped: “If this summer’s #Loveisland were a holiday it would be a riverboat cruise. There’s lots to look at, but the onboard entertainment is pretty limited.”

So, will there be yet more Love Island contestants arriving in the villa? It is highly likely. Series four and five of the show consisted of 49 episodes and both had arrivals as late as days 43 and 44. Monday’s episode will be the 39th day of the current series which is also set to consist of 49 episodes.
